Located in the heart of Rueil-Malmaison, opposite Parc du Bois Préau, the Bilingual Montessori School of Rueil-Malmaison welcomes children into a calm, secure environment conducive to their well-being and development. The bilingual teaching team supports each child with individualised attention, in constant, trusting dialogue with families.

Educational Program

A school that instills confidence in families.

The school enables each child to develop their potential through an individualised approach. As children do not have the same needs at the same time, they must be listened to, observed and taken into account according to their pace and personality. They can then become active participants in their own development through chosen experiences within an appropriate environment.
“Explore to Learn”, the school’s educational programme, promotes the four key factors in children’s learning: attention, active engagement, feedback from experience and consolidation of learning. It is based on an active learning method: the Montessori approach, with activities organised into four themes (practical life, sensorial life, mathematics and language), along with many science, art and cooking activities, as well as hands-on projects carried out by the children.

Children learn English through the repetition of daily life activities with an English speaker who speaks only in English.

  • Physical development/sport: every week in small groups

  • Music awareness: every week in small groups, supervised by a professional guitarist

  • Forest school once a month: a morning of school in the forest with activities linked to botany

  • Vegetable garden: planting, growing and harvesting

Elementary Classes for ages 6-11

School Highlights

  • Enhanced bilingual programme: strengthened learning in English, preparation for Cambridge English tests, with the Flyers level achieved by the majority of our pupils at the end of the primary cycle (A2 Flyers is the highest level of the three fun and motivating tests in the Cambridge English Young Learners series, intended for children in primary or lower secondary school. In the standard system, A2 is expected at the end of Year 10),
  • Participation in the Kangourou des mathématiques competition: a logic and mathematics game created in 1990 with 24 multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty, bringing culture, fun and mathematical knowledge to all pupils. This competition is offered in March each year, on the same day in all participating schools (more than 6 million pupils took part in 2021 across Europe).
  • Sport/swimming pool: every week in small groups, supervised by a PE teacher, alternating (half the year swimming, half the year other sports)
  • Artistic Activities: materials available in the classroom, projects based on famous artists or paintings
  • Learning beyond the school walls: using the local environment around the school (Parc du Bois Préau, the Seine, etc.) to illustrate concepts studied in class
